Through his camera lens, award-winning photojournalist Lester Sloan has preserved some of the most memorable moments and events on the tour. His "faces" of civil rights capture the elegance and grace of the ordinary citizens who attended the events and shared their stories. "One of the most interesting things I learned during my 70-day photographic odyssey across America," Sloan says, "is that average people can be both heroic and regal just being themselves."
